Srinagar, Sep 16 (KNO): Private Diagnostic Centers Association (PDCA) on Thursday said that the authorities have increased the municipality fee from Rs 2000 to Rs 25,000 putting extra burden on the pockets of poor people. The move has come after registration fee has increased from Rs 5000 to Rs 25,000. “While the implementation of Nursing Home and Clinical Establishments Registration Act is being well taken by the private health sector industry, it has been facing a concern over the increasing trend of fee structure,” Umar Dhar president of the association said. While giving the fee details, Dhar said that PC & PNDT Registration & Renewal Fee of Rs 5000 for five years time has gone to Rs 25,000 which too is for five years, “a burden that definitely shall realize the patients.” While speaking regarding municipality fee structure raised from Rs 2000 to Rs 25,000 Dhar spells it a fee structure that shall lead to the over burdening of charges for the poor and needy people which otherwise common high profile people are able to pay. “If this fee structure is being realised by Municipality from private health sector, let Municipality only be the agency to collect the bio-medical waste too within the fee structure raised or otherwise we pay to Kashmir Health Care System for realizing the bio-medical waste,” he said. “It again is a burden that speaks itself for which I went from post to pillar and brought it in notice of ex additional chief secretary H&ME, municipal authorities whose response till date is awaited, he said, adding that the issue should have been taken up with the higher authorities. “We request Lt Governor to look into the matter,” he said—(KNO)
